Dr. Avra Bandyopadhyay
Logic Technology Development (LTD) Front End Engineer, Intel Corporation, Hillsboro, Oregon, USABiography:
Avra Bandyopadhyay is a world-class researcher and problem solver within the field of nanotechnology. During his PhD, he has done extensive experimental measurements of fabrication of 2D semiconductor devices using advanced lithography techniques as well as the experiments related to the synthesis of 2D materials using Chemical Vapor Deposition method and characterizations of 2D materials using Raman/PL spectroscopy. His findings can be broadly applied to other advanced materials to help guide the design of high-performance multi-functional devices such as, smartwatches, smartphones and multimodal sensors embedded with control electronics for intelligent robotics. Dr. Bandyopadhyay’s works have also been cited by many other research scientists in United States and worldwide. One of his article (Chem. Mater. 2019, 31, 23, 9861–9874) got published in ACS Chemistry of Materials and the table of content design was also selected as the Supplementary cover image of the journal. Dr. Bandyopadhyay was awarded the ‘Outstanding EE Ph.D. Student’ in Fall 2020 from EE department, UNT Denton for his PhD dissertation. Additionally, his research skills, commitment and dedication were recognized several times during his research career when he was awarded the ‘Best Research Scientist’ (Fall 2019), and ‘Best Service’ (Fall 2018) at PACCAR Technology Institute, UNT Denton, as well as the ‘Kalpana Chawla Fellowship Award’ (Fall 2017) at UTEP fellow.
