
Prof. Abdelaziz Berrado

Dr Abdelaziz Berrado is a Professor of Industrial Engineering at Ecole Mohammadia d’Ingénieurs School of Engineering (EMI) at Mohammed V University in Rabat. He has held leadership and administrative roles at the same institution as Chair of the Industrial Engineering Department, Managing Director of the Doctoral program and recently as Deputy Director of Research and Partnerships.
He received his Ph.D. in Decision Systems and Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University in 2005 and an M.S in Industrial and Systems Engineering from San Jose State University in 2002 and an Industrial Engineering degree (Ingénieur d’Etat Diploma) from EMI, Mohammed V University in Rabat, Morocco in 2000.
Dr Berrado has been leading applied research projects focusing on advanced analytics for knowledge generation and decision support in organizations with varied applications across different industries. In addition to applied research, Dr Berrado is continually investigating avenues to enhance Interpretability and Explainability in Machine Learning.
Over the years, he has led several funded research projects with local and international impact and a close interaction with industry. His work is published in 50+ refereed journal articles, 100+ conference articles. Dr Berrado graduated 17 doctoral students.
Dr Berrado is a fellow of IEOM society and a member of INFORM and IEEE. Previously, he was a senior engineer and data analytics lead at Intel.
